Safety & Security

 Northgate/Greenwith Day Care

Our Mission statement reflects our commitment to educate, nurture and care for our children. In addition to this the Centres are strongly committed to ensuring our children are safe and secure and the numerous features, practices and procedures in both Centres ensure all aspects of safety and well-being are prioritised.

Both Centres are accessible by a single entry which is security coded via keypad access. In addition, both Centres have video surveillance systems which further the buildings safety and helps give peace of mind to our families. All outdoor play areas are not accessible from the road.

Further security is provided by our digital signing in system. Each parent creates a unique pin number which will allow only that person to sign a child out. This digital system also enables us to know exactly which children are in the Centre at any given time and hence allows for efficient evacuations if required.  If another person is to collect your child the Centre must be notified and proof of identification must be shown when that person arrives to collect that child.

Both Centres are fitted with smoke detectors and have a hard wired fire alarm system which automatically calls the Fire Brigade. We conduct regular evacuation and lock down procedures and both Centres are fitted with regularly serviced Fire Extinguishers.

All of our Educators are trained to be vigilant at all times from supervising children with the outdoor play equipment to observing sleep time. Regular Educator appraisals address the issue of diligent supervision and safety issues.

"We acknowledge that we are gathered here today on the land of the Kaurna People. We would like to pay our respects to the elders who hold such a deep connection to this land, it's waterways and creatures, it's history and it's future."
